Once we begin our representation of a client in an auto accident claim, we instruct the client to have no further discussions with the opposing insurance company. Our Maryland car accident lawyers will take care of all of the details from here on out. Here is the process of what to expect:

We file a claim against the opposing insurance company.

If it has not been filed already, we immediately contact the opposing insurance company to file a claim on your behalf.

We file a claim for PIP.

When you are involved in an auto accident, you may be entitled to personal injury protection (PIP) benefits through your own personal auto insurance policy. Filing a PIP claim does not affect your policy in any way, shape or form. Your insurance premiums will not increase as a result of filing a PIP claim.

We ensure that you receive appropriate medical care.

After being involved in a car accident, you are entitled to seek medical care from any doctor of your choosing. If you do not have a doctor, we will happily help you find a doctor close to your residence/work to make your life as easy as possible.

We obtain a copy of the police report.

It is important that we receive a copy of the police report so that we can verify the facts of the accident, insurance coverage, witnesses, etc.

We send out a demand package to the insurance company.

Once you have finished treating with the doctors, we send out a demand package to the insurance company and begin settlement negotiations. Our demand package consists of a summary of your claim, including medical bills, medical records, lost wages, and any other details that are pertinent to your case.

We engage in negotiations.

We are aggressive to achieve a fair and just settlement for each of our clients. Fortunately, most insurance companies are aware that we will file suit on behalf of our client if they do not provide us with a reasonable offer.

If we are unable to reach a settlement, we file suit.

If we are unable to settle your claim, we will aggressively litigate your claim in court.

We attempt to reduce your medical bills.

After your case has been settled, we want to put as much money into your pocket as possible. Out of the settlement, the doctors’ bills must be paid. We attempt to seek a reduction in the amount of your medical bills to achieve this result.
